Le Canarie, riferendosi alla qualità delle onde, sono spesso definite come le Hawai dell’atlantico. In questo paragone Lanzarote è Oahu e i 10 kilometri di costa che vanno da Famara fino alla Santa sono la famosa North Shore!
Un’isola in mezzo all’oceano significa un’apertura di 360 gradi agli swell e ai venti. A Lanzarote praticamente ogni giorno basta girare l’angolo per trovare onde e vento offshore!
Il Localismo
Il surf a Lanzarote è relativamente giovane, chi ha avuto la fortuna di nascere su quest’isola ha cominciato a surfare le onde sotto casa con pochi amici, ora si trova a dividere le stesse onde con gli amici di sempre, nuovi amici e sempre più persone provenienti da tutto il mondo.
Un’onda non è solamente un’onda. Dietro ogni onda ci sono storie che un turista non può conoscere.. storie di ragazzini pieni di entusiasmo che fra un tubo epico e un wipeout rovinoso diventano uomini, storie di grandi amicizie, giornate indimenticabili, tanti bei ricordi e alcune tragedie.
