Kalufa Surf School offers different types of surfing classes for all level of abilities from beginner to advanced level. Tourists and residents are warmly welcome to join one of our groups (maximum 6 people per group / instructor) or ask for private lessons. Classes are held everyday, from Monday to Sunday and are submitted to weather conditions.
The professionalism and 20 years of experience of our staff are available to anyone wanting to learn to surf in the greatest respect of the oceans and the environment.
Kalufa Surf School’s instructors are officially recognized by ISA International Surfing Association and F.C.S. Canary Surf Federation, and have dedicated all their lives to the knowledge of the oceans and the development of their technical skills to ensure safe and fun surf lessons to all of their students.
Learning surfing alone can be very tricky for various reasons: choice of the right surf equipment, the knowledge of the meteorological and marine conditions, the surf spots themselves, where and how to enter the water in order to get to the line up, etc. For these reasons, the support, the knowledge, the experience of our surf instructors is fundamental and will guarantee you a faster and safer learning curve.

Beginner level

- How to put on a wetsuit properly and the characteristics of each model
- How to carry a surfboard correctly
- How to enter the water with a surfboard
- Basic knowledge of the “inside break” or white water (broken waves)
- Rules of safety
- How to turn a surfboard and the correct positions on the broken waves
- How to lie and stand properly on your surfboard
- How to select the best waves
- How to paddle out
- How to catch waves
- Recognize and understand long distance signals between instructors and students
- Basic stand up techniques
- Sliding positions on the surfboard
- How to ride a white water wave straight
- How to go left and right on the white water
- History of the surfing and its rules
- Tides, waves, swell

Intermediate level

- We will first check your surfing level.
- Learn the basic techniques to pass over the white water breaks
- The right position at the peak, known as “Point Break”
- Manoeuvres and correct sitting positions on the surfboard
- How to successfully paddle the wave and ride it before it breaks.
-Ride the green wall on the left and right

Timing surf lesson

10:00 Meeting in front of Kalufa Surf School.
10:20 Departure by car.
10.30 Arrival at the beach.Warm up.Theory lesson.
11:00 Entry into water and first practical tests.
11:30 Short time out and practical lesson on different methods for the "pop up".
11:45 Second practice session in the water.
12:30 Sandwich break and personal corrections.
13:00 Last session of "free surfing" under constant monitoring of the instructors.
14:00 Recovery material and loading, stretching on the beach and changing the suit.
14:30 Return by car with feedback of the day.
14:45 Arrival at the school and unloading the material. Appointment for the next day.
15:00 End of the day.

N.b .: The daily timetable is to be considered indicative and is subject to minimal changes based on the individual needs of the students and the whole group, the weather conditions and the judgment of the instructor.
